Invoice or report PDF looks wrong

Logo is stretched, blurry, or cropped oddly

PDF generation works best with a roughly square logo (close to 1:1 width-to-height) at a decent resolution, around 400x400px is a good target. A wide banner-style logo, or one that's very low-resolution, won't render cleanly. Re-upload something squarer and sharper in Settings.

GST/HST number isn't showing up on invoices

It only prints once it's entered and saved under Settings → Business details. A common cause here is that it got typed in but never actually saved before navigating away.

Totals or line items look cut off

This usually shows up with either an unusually long line-item description or a large number of line items on a single invoice. Try shortening descriptions (move extra detail into an invoice note instead), or for very long invoices, consider splitting the work across two.

Wrong tax amount on the PDF

Check the tax treatment set on the invoice itself, the province and taxable/zero-rated/exempt setting, before assuming it's a calculation bug. The most common cause is an invoice left on your default province instead of being updated for an out-of-province client. See Sales tax in depth.

PDF won't download at all

  • Check your browser isn't blocking downloads or pop-ups for the site; look for a blocked-download icon in the address bar.
  • Close a few heavy tabs and try again. PDF generation happens on your device, and very low available memory can occasionally interrupt it.
  • If it keeps happening, try a different supported browser to see whether it's specific to the one you're using.
