I can't find a specific transaction
Use filters before you start scrolling
The transaction ledger filters by date range, account, vendor or description text, and amount, all of which combine into a precise search rather than a manual scan. "Every payment to a specific vendor, over $200, last quarter" is a single filtered view, not something you scroll around looking for.
Search by a partial description
You don't need the exact bank description. A fragment is enough. Searching "bell" finds "BELL CANADA OB123456" and similar variants without needing the exact string.
Check you're in the right account
If you've got multiple bank accounts or credit cards set up, make sure the filter isn't scoped to the wrong one. A transaction on a credit card won't show up while you're filtered to chequing.
Check whether it's in an archived year
If the transaction predates a fiscal year-end archive, it's been moved out of the active working set. Restore the relevant archive file to see it.
Check that the date is what you'd expect
Bank-posted dates and transaction dates occasionally differ by a day or two around month boundaries. If you're searching a narrow range right at a month-end, widen it by a few days on either side.
Genuinely missing?
If none of the above turns it up, first confirm it was actually imported or entered in the first place. Check your CSV import history, or if it was supposed to come from a receipt, check whether the OCR capture actually saved. If you're confident it should be there and it isn't, head to My data is missing.
